|Downloading New Maps from the All Topo Maps Server

2. Make sure your viewer is recent
(Viewers prior to 8151 will not work with the current server). You
can get the latest version [
3. You can download maps 'one at a
time' as needed: see step 4. Or you can download maps 'all at once':
see step 5.
4. One At a
Have the 'All Topo Map' viewer download the latest map list:
From the main menu, choose "Updates: Update 'New Map List' from
All Topo will ask if you are connected to the internet:
Click on 'Yes', the viewer will download the latest map list and
then merge it with the old updated map list. This may take as long a
two minutes. After a while (it might take a full minute) this message will be displayed:
Click on 'OK'.

Open an existing copy of the map
you want to update. Use the 'Find Map' tool (from the main menu
click on "Search: Search by Map Name..." to load an existing copy).
Next click on the button that lists available map revisions (it is
the last button on the last menu line with a picture of a 'stack of
maps' and an integer to the right; alternatively you can choose the
menu item "Updates: Choose Map Revision..."):
The viewer will display a list of available map revisions:
Click on the map you want, then click on the green
check mark button "Download Map from Web." All Topo will download the new map, add it to the local map
content and display the map.
All at Once
updated maps are sourced from a Amazon Web Services (AWS) host
server. The only limit to the bandwidth that the updater will
consume is your internet connection. If you share your internet
connection with others, it might be polite to wait until the end of
the day when others in your organization are not using the internet.
The AllTopo updater is efficient and will saturate your
